| All big companies (Allianz, Victoria, Gerling, Alte Leipziger) have
their private health insurances. If you are interested, Ill give you
more names and URLs. |
| It seems that back in 1996 Congress passed the Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The purpose of this act was to protect
employees from losing their health insurance because they change jobs or
have pre-existing medical conditions. Some groups including the AMA.ABATE of
Illinois saw this as an opportunity to protect people who choose to ride
motorcycles from being excluded from health insurance policies at work.
Because of this lobbying, HIPAA includes language preventing employers from
denying coverage because of after-hours activities on the part of workers.
In fact the language is intended to ensure, among other things, that
individuals are not excluded from health care coverage due to participation
in activities such as motorcycling, snowmobiling, all-terrain vehicle
riding, horseback riding, skiing and other similar activities. Such as
mountain biking. |
| If you have money enough and are used to *top quality* at top prices,
IMHO there is only *one* private health insurance for you in Germany.
Its the Hallesche Nationale K., which was called the Rolls Royce
between the health insurances: they pay all without any discussion, but
they naturally are *expensive*. |
| Quoted from American Motorcyclist, Heres what they told employers: You
cant deny a worker a health-insurance policy because that employee rides a
motorcycle, snowmobile, etc. But you can refuse to cover injuries related to
those activities. |
| The whole family (working father, not working mother, children) is
protected by health insurance, if the father is a member of an health
insurance by law. And the company he works for pays 50 % of the
insurance rates. |
